Tech innovator will collaborate with UNLV Engineering’s Drones and Autonomous Systems Lab to deliver AI-enabled systems for secure real-time orchestration of intelligent machines.
LAS VEGAS — August 26, 2025 — Terbine, an innovator in AI-driven machine orchestration, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) today announced their intention to transform logistics through close collaboration. The organizations have signed a teaming agreement to pursue federal and state grants, projects and industry partnerships that have the shared goal of delivering highly secure real-time monitoring, management and synchronization of autonomous supply chain systems and connected infrastructure across land, air and sea.
Logistics Will Increasingly Involve Intelligent Machines
As many types of operations evolve with the deployment of increasingly autonomous machines such as self-guiding supply vehicles, cargo- and personnel-carrying drones, container robots and more, the need to coordinate them efficiently is rapidly becoming a top priority. Terbine’s platform is intended to answer this challenge by securely orchestrating machine interactions at scale—ushering in a new era of operational agility and logistical intelligence. Through partnering with UNLV’s advanced engineering lab and leading vendors, Terbine will be able to provide research, development and testing of physical systems with cloud- and edge-based AI, resulting in real world solutions.

Terbine’s focus on AI-based logistics orchestration is intended to complement and support intelligent machines being developed and deployed by auto and truck manufacturers, robot and drone producers and others.
UNLV’s State of The Art Research Facilities
UNLV opened its Drones and Autonomous Systems Lab within the College of Engineering in 2015 under the leadership of renowned autonomous systems expert Paul Oh. The lab conducts world-leading research on robotics and unmanned aerial systems, and its advanced humanoid robot was a worldwide finalist for the ANA Avatar XPRIZE in 2022 and competed in the DARPA Robotics Challenge in 2015. Now, the lab is ready to take on governmental and corporate sponsors to support research, development and testing in areas critical to advancing logistics, potentially including:
- Coordinating unmanned aerial, maritime and ground cargo systems including freight-handling robots
- Facilitating ad-hoc platooning of cargo vehicles for efficiency and increased safety
- Infrastructure-aware orchestration of machine and human interactions across regions and supply chains
Together with partner-vendors, Terbine and UNLV intend to develop and facilitate the secure orchestration of potentially millions of autonomous machines—turning fragmented supply chains into an adaptive, intelligent ecosystem.
